Giants defied to odds to run the current Zambian Basketball League runners up NAPSA Hurricanes close in the quarter finals of the recently held Lakers invitational tournament in Bulawayo. After surprising the basketball community to reach the quarter finals Giants put up a brave display in a game where the Bulawayo team which is currently undergoing a rebuild with the support of former players, officials and supporters both in Zimbabwe and abroad eventually fell to an 18 point defeat. The young Giants team showed enough promise for the team to be considered viable future contenders for championships in the future.
